Full of energy and tongue-in-cheek lyricism, Davey's new track is heavily inspired by both '80s soundscapes and early 2000s romcoms.
Following on from his February single 'I Like It When U Say', Irish artist Davey has released his brand new track 'Thinkin' About Your Girlfriend'.
Davey’s previous single 'D.Y.K.W.Y.M.T.M' was his first to receive radio play across Ireland and was later chosen as RTÉ2FMs prestigious ‘Record of the Week’.
His latest venture showcases his musical inspirations, oozing the charisma and pop sounds of Prince, Hall & Oates and The 1975.
"'Thinkin' About Your Girlfriend' is a song inspired by my friends, 80s pop, Noughties rom-coms...and your girlfriend," Davey tells Hot Press.
"The song is about fancying a girl who's in a relationship and wishing they were with you instead (because you're obviously so much better). The whole idea of this song really excited me and was a lot of fun to make. Then it was just about getting the right sound for the song."
"I wanted to use sounds you hear in '80s pop songs artists like Robbie Dupree. The song had to feel good and sound fun to match the story I was telling."

Davey began releasing music in 2019, writing and co-producing his own material. His debut track 'Moment' showcased his endless potential, later releasing his 'Feeling' EP in 2020.
He holds a deep passion for creating songs, often using highly emotive lyrics combined with feel good melodies and instrumentals. Davey finds inspiration for songs through common life experiences; love, heartache and everything in between.
