Speaking on the single, the artist said that 'Reckless' is about "how all the normalities of life are elevated by those we share them with".
After originally introducing himself with his debut LP The Longest Day In History in 2016, which featured his breakthrough anthem 'My Dear Mother', Northern Irish indie-rock innovator David C Clements has now made his long-awaited return to deliver the euphoric new single 'Reckless'.
Bringing back all of that rich and majestic energy he first emerged with, 'Reckless' sees Clements break his eight year silence with a dramatic new offering. With its broad and emotive textures set perfectly to a rising crescendo throughout, 'Reckless' will remind listeners of The Bends era Radiohead.
Speaking about the new release, he said, "I began writing 'Reckless' after moving my childhood upright piano into my house. I’d had this little guitar riff that I’d happened upon in a soundcheck, and something about those notes resonating when played on the piano brought a whole new mood to it and the song just flowed out from there".
The musician continued saying: "It’s an all encompassing song about love. To love and be loved. The highs, the lows and the joy of the normalities of everyday life.”
Clements has been a firm fixture of the Irish music scene since his 2016 debut. In 2022, David C. Clements stood in as lead singer of Two Door Cinema Club on their South American festival run. He was invited to Washington D.C. in 2023 to perform at the capital's St Patrick's Day Gala Concert, alongside James Vincent McMorrow, SOAK and Tolü Makay.
