It‘s a song "for fans of my early work," Kitt says about 'Wave of Peace'.
Irish singer-songwriter David Kitt recently shared his new single 'Wave of Peace' from his upcoming LP Idiot Check. The track features "some delectable drumming from Dylan Lynch of Soda Blonde and swoony singing from Katie Kim and Margie Jean Lewis," Kitt says.
The singer and producer has released eight studio albums in the past and is releasing his next full length LP Idiot Check on March 31st via RE:WARM. With the release date approaching, he announced some additional dates for his upcoming UK & Ireland tour.
Originally, 'Wave of Peace' wasn't supposed to appear on Idiot Check, as Kitt thought the track would not fit to the mood of the record. However, the song found it's way on the LP since it was liked by lots of people.
„As the last track on the album it works as an epilogue or coda a bit like in films when they do the six months later thing and suburbs are all leafy again and spring is in the air. Now that I’ve lived with it for a while, it feels like the perfect way to close the record and the upcoming live shows," Kitt says.

On Idiot Check, Kitt draws on his experience in various genres to create an ambient sound with experimental and electric touches that complement the traditional sound of folk music.
The album was produced, recorded, and written by Kitt between 2016 and 2022 in Dublin and Paris. Some of the writing took place in the remote town of Ballinskelligs in south-west Kerry, which later became the artist's home.
Idiot Check deals with recent trends of political and social polarisation as well as religious topics like the absence of faith and superstition. Both themes appear throughout the record on personal and societal levels.
According to Kitt it "explores the defiant necessity of the creative act against the backdrop of its apparent folly."
In collaboration with Katie Kim, the Irish musician shared the song 'Till the End' a few weeks ago. Kim is also featured on 'Wave of Peace' and will provide backing vocals on several tracks of the album.
