Elliot Crampton has released his newest single and accompanying music video.
Hailing from Greystones, Elliot Crampton has released his new single ‘This Town’.
A self-taught multi-instrumentalist who is a postman by day and an audio engineer by night, Crampton’s heartfelt lyrics match the emotionality of the melody that feels like it is straight out of a coming of age movie.
“I became a postal operative a year ago so I’m used to early starts. I made the career change because it gives me so much more time to work on my music than I’ve ever had before. Now I can start song ideas while walking around with the post or while driving my van,” Crampton said.
The singer recounts that when he was writing ‘This Town’, he started by playing a few chords, but was then able to finish the song within a matter of minutes.
The Wicklow native has also released the accompanying music video for ‘This Town’. Crampton created the video on his IPhone. “Part of the fun of being an independent artist is trying to learn new skills like finding your way around photoshop and getting help from your family and friends to do the best you can with what you’ve got,” Crampton said.
For five years of his musical career, Crampton fronted a rock/pop band called Redwoods who played on RTE Late Late Show, festivals across the country and many shows across Greystones and Dublin.

Once the group disbanded, he took a break from performing and travelled across Asia and Europe. When he did return to music he released a single entitled ‘Voices Of A Smoker’.
Now back in full musical swing, Crampton has released ‘This Town’ and is planning a live show in The Whale Theatre in Greystones on Saturday, April 27th. Tickets are available here.
