Limerick singer-songwriter Emmet Scanlan traverses unconditional love on his latest stripped-back, sweet-sounding track ‘Burning For You’ – taken from his upcoming EP Every Given Day, due April 2024.
Staying true to his folk roots, a simple yet catchy guitar accompaniment backs up Scanlan’s romantic meditations – as does the tasteful musicianship of What The Good Thought - an international group with members hailing from Sweden, England and New Zealand.
The band has been performing in various shapes and sizes for almost fifteen years, releasing three EPs and performing at the likes of Electric Picnic and American Folk Alliance Festival, sharing the stage with the likes of Damien Rice, Femi Kuti, and the Saw Doctors.
Elsewhere, Scanlan penned the soundtrack to short film Without Words - which won the Spike Lee Award at the Cannes Film Festival in 2008.

A project set to consist of songs of “gratitude of life’s gifts and challenges”, Every Given Day was written between the frontman’s hometown of Newcastle West and Lahinch, and was recorded in a studio in the Italian Alps alongside long-time recording collaborator, Raoul Terzi.
Emmet Scanlan has some upcoming shows in Ireland over the next few months, with support slots for Jack O’Rourke in Mike The Pies, Kerry on February 15, and John Spillane in De Barras, Cork on March 7, 2024.
