The Enniscorthy youngster caps off a busy 2023 with an uplifting indie-pop ballad.
Wexford up-and-comer Eoin Devereux advocates for peace and love with his marching indie anthem ‘Balloon’.
The synth-washed tune reflects on life’s universal struggles, with an overriding message urging us to break free from the negativity which holds us back.
A true DIY artist, the psychedelia-tinged video was fittingly created by the musician in his home garden.
"I think when you are an indie artist most of the time you have to make something work from nothing,” he reflects.
"I don't think having massive budgets for music videos always means it is going to look and feel incredible, sometimes just having a phone and a good idea and some skill in video editing can be great to get to know your style as an artist.”

‘Balloon’ was the last track in what was a prolific year for Devereux, having also shared ‘What A Friend You Were’, ‘Lost In My Head’ and ‘Cool Out’ in 2023.
The 21-year-old often expresses feelings of depression and isolation in his music.
"The beauty of life is that it's not always a steady straight line and sometimes it can be up and down,” says Devereux. “Through my music, I create songs based on how I was feeling that day.
“Music has always made sense to me and has helped me through many difficult moments. So to be able to share those moments in a colourful and hopefully competent way means a lot to me."
