Buckley's debut single is a compelling and emotional keys track.
Dublin artist Eve Buckley's 'Out of the Light' displays raw and emotive lyrics and melodies about her life and the people that populate it.
The artists, who has shared the stage with the likes of Mary Black has described her vulnerable debut offering as: "probably my most personal song that I have written".
A bold fashion to introduce yourself to the world, the artist says that the song draws from painful lived experience.
"Basically it was the first song I ever wrote. I wrote it a few years ago now when I was about 19".
Buckley explains: "In my later teens I suffered a lot with anxiety and depression. So the song is about me coming out of that and all the emotions that I had during that really hard time".

The songwriter reflects: "It’s kind of me just processing that and I have kind of put it all into the song really".
"Out of the Light" blends Buckley's pure and sincere vocals with the backbone of dulcet keys into a life affirming chorus of "I'll keep fighting for my life".
The musician also hinted that there was plenty more to come, teases an EP, along with 'Out of the Light'.
"There’s definitely going to be an EP later this year! I’ve recorded another song already and that’s going to be very different to this one." The songwriter says.
Although she couldn't say an EP title or the name of the next single, the Dublin artist said that "The next song is a going to be a bit more angry!"
She also stated that "The EP is going to be about me and my emotional being.".
Eve Buckley is also billed to play Whelan's Upstairs as part of a mixed bill including fellow emerging artists Taylor Nose, Lisa McGrath, and All Thumbs on April 9.
