Irish alt-pop empress FYA FOX is back with her third single of the year with gospel-led anthem 'LIKE LOVING JESUS'.

Infused with a funky bassline and textured vocals, the infectious follow up to 'BUSY' packs quite the punch. With organ sounds as background instrumentation and crystal clear vocals, the slick production brings FYA's voice to the next level.

"You can't show me love but I still believe it," she sings. "Got me on my knees, hell I'm begging for release/Loving you is just like loving Jesus."

Reminiscent of better days and searching for answers, FYA FOX describes how she would “sit for hours counting daisies, like picking petals gonna save me now.”

The rising singer-songwriter teamed up with the Cian Ducrot, Ryan Mac, Lenii and Fia Moon's co-writer; Bill Maybury, and Matt Weir.

“I wrote this song over zoom with Bill Maybury and Matt Weir during lockdown," FYA FOX tells Hot Press. "I’d been listening to a lot of Noah Cyrus at the time, so I feel like some inspiration for the session came from that”.

“I wrote it at a time when the music industry had shut down, and I was in a frame of mind going, 'What am I doing with my life?' I'd put so much into the music industry, and I just felt like I wasn't getting anything back,” FYA explained of the inspiration behind her track, adding that the religious angle is more of a metaphor. “It was something we drew on for this song. We were trying to think of a concept that would be relatable to other people and so many people of different faiths give so much to their faith, or believe so much in something.”

FYA FOX emerged onto the scene tipped as Hot For 2022 by Hot Press. With the release of ‘Hit Me Where It Hurts’, as well as playing some of her first festivals, the summer has been rather busy (no pun intended) for the Armagh native.

Following a stellar set of singles, a sold out Whelan's Dublin headliner last November, a showcase at Ireland Music Week 2021 and a selection to play the BBC Introducing Stage at OutPut and Stendhal Festival; FYA is gearing up to play her first ever UK festival Live At Leeds on October 15th.

To date FYA has gained over 203,000 Spotify streams with playlisting on ‘New Music Friday’, ‘New Pop UK’, ‘EASY’, ‘Chilled Pop Hits’, ‘New Pop Revolution’, ‘Fresh Finds’ and ‘Fresh Finds Pop’.
