'Icy Blue' was written by the artist after a 2021 trip to Canada.
Fresh off the back of a successful debut with singles ‘Everyday Life’ and ‘Cash Machine’, Irish artist Honas has returned with a double release of ‘Icy Blue’ and ‘Someone of a Kind’.
Featuring Honas' deft guitar plucking, 'Icy Blue' and tender, intimate vocals.
‘Icy Blue’ was written by Honas after a 2021 trip to Canada which he describes as "filled with car journeys and ‘80s tunes". As a result, 'Icy Blue's chorus takes inspiration from Don Henley’s classic ‘Boys of Summer’.
However this 2021 trip to Canada isn't the only source of inspiration for the songwriter who grew up in the West of Ireland speaking Irish before moving to Guyana South America , where the artist spent many formative years.
Listeners might recognise Honas from his previous collaboration with German producer LO for his song 'Control' which amassed over 20 million streams and as the songwriter and vocals behind the 2022 Google Year in Search video
Speaking on his instagram, Honas said that the Double A side release was about two of the artists's " closest and favourite creatures in the world".
