Patrick O’Laoghaire, aka I Have A Tribe, has unveiled his new single ‘Oh Man’ - taken from his upcoming second album Changing of the Guard.

The follow up to November 2022's 'Teddy's Song' is an uplifting folk-pop song that distils earnestness and groove into one powerful gesture from Ireland’s west coast directly to the heart of the listener. O'Laoghaire’s warm voice floats atop of playful instrumentation and clap percussion sounds.

"Take a good look at this face, I think it's changing / Take a good look at this place, I think I'm leaving," he opens the track, which shines a light on introspection and confusion at your life path ahead. Of course, Patrick's gorgeous dog Teddy appears in the new video for 'Oh Man', as seen below.

"I don't know (x4), I once did but that was such a long time ago / Take a good look at this floor, it's covered in letters / He wrote down when he swore that he would not forget her."

Patrick says of his new single: “‘Oh Man’ is a song about that human experience of uncertainty, when you say to someone - 'tell me what to do.' Or, when you ask it of yourself… and listen for the answer.”

His influences are evident on new album Changing of the Guard, out May 26th - elements of the plaintiveness of Anohni as well as the unorthodox balladry of Devendra Banhart.

His sets often feature covers of This is The Kit, Leif Vollebekk, Bonny Light Horseman, and Leonard Cohen. This spring, I Have A Tribe will play a series of intimate shows in Ireland, where the audience will have the opportunity to hear songs from the upcoming album.

Patrick O’Laoghaire has toured with and opened for Anna Calvi, Lisa Hannigan and Villagers, and was invited to take part in the People Festival (curated by Bon Iver) where he collaborated with Beirut, Feist, Little Scream and Damien Rice.
