Check out the transfixing instrumental offering from the Monaghan artist below.
Dream-like, ethereal, and undeniably beautiful are just a few words that come to mind when listening to the 22-year-old musician Jamie Duffy's latest memorising offering, 'Torus'
Introducing a captivating instrumental piece, Duffy proves that vocals aren't always needed to produce a configuration adorned in raw emotion as 'Torus' takes the shape of an incredibly moving contemporary classic composition.
Bathed in sweet melodies and swells of movements, the track takes inspiration from the cyclical swimming patterns of basking sharks, which the Monaghan artist weaves into the intricacies of modern relationships and life.
"In this piece, I was inspired by basking sharks swimming in circles. This behaviour mirrors my own experiences and relationships, often feeling cyclical, explained Duffin, speaking of his latest opus.
"The torus-shaped circles these majestic creatures form while mating symbolises life's beautiful and wild aspects."

Known for his blend of classical, popular, and classical influences, Duffy fuses these three muses in the piece with an appreciation for the Irish landscape and terrain, resulting in a sound that often resembles a soft or familiar chime.
Rising to meet Irish audiences in 2022 with his landmark debut, 'Solas,' a piano piece translating to 'light' in Irish, Duffy has proved that he will continue exploring a diverse musical landscape with his latest delivery.
