Jape's new album takes influence from 1970s heroes like Paul McCartney, Judee Sill, Robert Wyatt and John Cale.
Dublin-born, Sweden-based artist Jape has shared the lead single from his forthcoming album, Endless Thread.
"Every time you look around, take a little time to see / Every time you close your eyes, my love / Know that you are close to me / Out of the dark, there will come light / Isn't that right? he sings on the opening verse, infusing optimism and hope to the jangly tune. Full of warmth and memorable indie riffs, the track embraces love, emotional freedom and growth at its core. "Each and every moment by your side reminds mer what a gem you are."
'Heal These Wounds' is described by Richie Egan (aka Jape) as "an upbeat song written around the time I was writing a lot of songs for cartoons":
"It’s a song that made me fall back in love with writing again, I listen to a lot of experimental and ‘weird’ music, however I always seem to fall back to the melodic side of things, in the past I sort of ran away from that but this time I thought I should embrace it as it seems to be what I might be good at."
Endless Thread will arrive on September 29th via Faction Music. The electronic maestro, and former bass player with Irish instrumental rock group The Redneck Manifesto, has also announced an Irish tour for October and November 2023.
