Kean Kavanagh's new EP, Wrestling Music, will be released on July 28th.
Portlaoise musician and producer Kean Kavanagh is back with new music today, sharing 'Feel It Coming' from his new EP Wrestling Music.
The project is due to arrive on July 28th via his own label, Soft Boy Records, and will be celebrated with headline shows in Dublin (Whelan's) and London's Oslo on October 10th and 14th respectively. Tickets go on sale this Friday at 10am.
Leading the launch is compelling new track ‘Feel It Coming’, a jubilant psych rock anthem to give us a taste of indie euphoria at its most socially anxious. The addictive new Black Keys 'Gold On The Ceiling'-esque offering follows on from April single ‘Mary’ - a character led song set in rural Ireland.
"Feel It Coming is an anthem for moments of social dread and the blissful relief of leaving the party," Kean explains. Featuring swirling guitar riffs, a steady drum beat and soaring textured vocals underneath Kavanagh's lofi rock vocals. "Tell me how I'm gonna sneak out quiet..." he asks, as if staring around the room looking for exits amidst the smoke and haze of the afterparty.
Co-founder, producer and A&R of Irish Label Soft Boy Records, Kean Kavanagh is a story-teller with a strong imagination who burst onto the mainstream with his 2020 project Dog Person. Founded in 2015, Soft Boy Records morphed into a cultural behemoth that gripped the Irish music scene and never let go - alongside his co-founder Kojaque, Kean found himself sharing stages with names such as Loyle Carner and Lana Del Ray, as well as his consequential solo-slots opening for Maverick Sabre and Vampire Weekend. He also starred in a Boiler Room documentary about the label and collective, as if he wasn't busy enough.

Currently settled in London, Kean’s career is set to project far beyond his Irish roots.
