Listen to the new single from the Irish duo below.
Ahead of the release of their upcoming EP, Grow, due in November, Kyoto Love Hotel have given us another taste of what to expect from the highly anticipated project in the form of their stunning new single, 'Machine'.
Their most immersive and expansive release to date, 'Machine' marks the beginning of a captivating new direction in the Irish electronic pop duo's sound.
"The repeated line ‘there’s water in my ears now’ is very literal," one half of the duo, Laura Sheary reveals. "My ears were blocked for weeks after swimming in the sea and I felt really detached for that period of time – as though I was floating above my own body, watching it in action in this strange way. Parts of the song explore what it means to have a body, a mind, and the anxiety that can sometimes take hold when the two don’t connect. More often than not, it’s the sea that washes this anxiety away and reminds you of the beauty that exists in the unknowable”.
The single further establishes Kyoto Love Hotel as one of the country's most original emerging artists – building on an impressive live profile following performances at The New Colossus Festival in New York, Other Voices, Electric Picnic, Output Belfast and Whelan's Ones To Watch.
