Indie-folk duo Laytha have returned with 'Daughter' - the follow to up their gorgeous debut single 'What Will I Gain'.
Rising pair Laytha have shared their brand new single 'Daughter', returning to the release charts. Their talent brims throughout the beautiful offering, which explores protection and connection.
With debut record 'What Will I Gain' rooting the band in deep, swirling melodies and folkish arrangements; their second sees them draw on and engage with the dark side of their home.
A track grounded in family, tradition and growth, 'Daughter' is fed by a pagan energy that pitches and wails with a tightly wound wildness. Drawing inspirations from the likes of Stevie Nicks, Hozier and David Keenan, Laytha branch into the alternative side of their beloved folk music, incorporating ritualistic acapella and acoustic with a hypnotic mix of strings and keys.
'Daughter' is the latest pattern woven into the band’s poetic edda. Showcasing the talent that has earned them support slots alongside Joshua Burnside, Niamh Regan and Reevah, Laytha firmly entrench themselves in the rising tide of new Irish folk that has swept the globe in recent years.
