Hot off the heels of the new release, the group have announced a headliner date at Whelan's this May.
'Harsh Truths' is the latest offering from the musical duo Lemoncello- made up of a Laura Quirke and Claire Kinsella. A melodic folksy track, 'Harsh Truths' features dramatic vocals and harmonies along with fast paced guitar plucking, makes for an instant classic folk ballad. .
Speaking on their new single, the duo say: “We wrote ‘Harsh Truths’ as a sort of conversation with someone who is not really there, or not emotionally present. It became a conversation with the self, the multitude of different voices inside ourselves that guide our intuition.”
The new single marks the pair's first musical release since they signed with Claddagh records, which the band described as an honour.
“We are honoured to be releasing our first album on a roster of artists that we love, and to be part of the revival of a label that has such a strong history of great Irish music.”
'Harsh Truths' is a Celtic tune with circular rhythms and dark, sinister lyrics- it's a hypnotic listen.

There's an alchemy to how the duo’s voices pair together with the warmth and grit of Kinsella’s cello. This sound is distinctly underpinned by Quirke’s cyclical, trance-like guitar playing makes for Lemoncello's distinct sound which can be heard on the new track.
Lemoncello have announced their biggest Dublin headliner yet in Whelan's May 15 2024. Tickets will be priced from €15 excluding booking fee and are available for purchase here.
