Lilla Vargen has released her new single ‘Drive’ which is the third track on her upcoming EP entitled Drive.

This heartfelt ballad combines a gentle piano melody with Vargens delicate voice. ‘Drive’ is a soothing song with empowering lyrics that put anxiety at ease.

When talking about the song, Vargen says, “Drive is a song about anxiety and finding a way to deal with it. I talk about how I don’t drive because I don’t trust myself to, and how all those nervous feelings feed into everything else that I can’t control. It’s a song about recognising your fears and trying to overcome them.”

Her new EP Drive is set to be released on June 7. It will contain four songs, including the namesake track ‘Drive’. She has already released two other tracks from the EP including ‘Belong’ and ‘No Fool’.

Vargen started rising to prominence in 2019 when she toured Europe, the UK and Ireland with Dermot Kennedy and has since garnered a massive following across all streaming platforms. Hailing from Ballymena, County Antrim, draws inspiration from artists like Nina Simone, Tame Impala, HAIM, and Jai Paul.

Speaking about her music, Vargen says, “I'm proud of this work,” Vargen said of the EP. “ I’ve had the space and time to write the songs I want to write, produce the music I want to produce, and the whole process has been a breath of fresh air.

"In our industry, it’s sometimes the loudest voices, rather than the most creative ones, that get heard, and I hope this EP will give my audience a sense of what that can feel like. Ultimately, these songs are about new beginnings, and having the drive to keep going. But they’re also about rediscovering the joy of music. After all, when I settled on Drive as a title, I did have a road trip soundtrack somewhere in my mind!”
