Check out the debut single for the rapper and hip-hop artist below.
Producer-extrordinaire Mickzart has turned his talents to his own music, releasing his debut single 'Guinness Tequila'.
Produced, written, arranged, mixed, and mastered by Mick himself, 'Guinness Tequila' at its core describes the life of a 20-something-year-old from a working class background trying to enjoy a night out to ease his mind and get away from his reality. The hip-hop piece blends rhymes with '90s wavey synth, inspired by the likes of A Tribe Called Quest, Nas, and Outkast.
Fascinated with music from a very young age, Mickzart fell deeply in love with hip-hop in his teenage years. Mickzart went down a rabbit hole of '90s hip-hop catalogues, cementing his appreciation for hip-hop culture. As he ventured further into the genre, he started to appreciate artists who can really sculpt a cohesive album and cites Kendrick Lamar as his biggest influence.
When Mickzart was made redundant from his full-time job during the Covid-19 pandemic, he made a drastic shift and dove fully into the music landscape. This led to him producing Absentee’s debut single 'Love Letterz', which sits at 12,220 plays on Spotify and 6,370 on Youtube.
From here, Mickzart continued to work with Absentee on numerous projects then began to work with Slevo and Qbanaa. Last year Mickzart produced 'Truth and Desire' for Qbanaa, his most successful production to date, with 27,285 streams and a multitude of spotify editorial playlists inclusions and write ups.

Mickzart went on to develop D12 INC (D12 incorporated), a rap collective, with some of his music industry friends. So far, D12 INC have played several shows and are working on releasing their first official project.
In April, Mick dropped 'Mick is Like' on Youtube as part of D12 INC's influence series, generating a lot of hype for his debut single.
Speaking about 'Guinness Tequila', Mickzart said: “I was having a dirt aul time in my last job and officially left it in November to pursue music full time. I done a residency with the good folks down at Vision Lab and this was the first song I wrote once I went into full artist mode. I produced, wrote, mixed and mastered this song. I have spent a lot of time with it and now it’s time for people to hear it.”
