Check out the propulsive new single from Mount Palomar and SPRINTS frontwoman Karla Chubb below.
The North’s electro polymath Mount Palomar has unleashed the pummelling new tune, ‘L’Aliment’, enlisting the rousing vocals of Irish punk songsmith and SPRINTS frontwoman Karla Chubb.
A propulsive slice of hardware-driven electronica - teeming with raw and raucous energy - the track seems to fit perfectly among low-lit rooms and towering sound systems, inspired by the metallic angst that only pure romance can stir.
“When writing the song, I sketched out a couple of initial verses, drawing on a vocal rhythmic sensibility that in some senses reminded me of early Janet Jackon material,” the artist says.
“Not an obvious starting point when working with the front woman of an indie guitar band but I like to carve out something a bit different with collaborators.
“I then asked Karla to come up with lyrics that personified mental anguish, as though it were a partner or lover and she arrived at the studio in Dublin with a strong lyrical narrative that felt apt, suited the tone of the track and hopefully shows a different side to her as a singer.”

The title ‘L’Aliment’ (French for ‘food’) refers to the lyric “eats me inside”, which Mount Palomar says allowed him to “immediately envisage the artwork, and also because my mum was a French teacher back when I was jumping up and down on my bed as a young teen, playing Cannonball badly on my Black Hondo H76 Strat”.
Tune into the magnetic, pulverising track below.
