Irish indie upstart Nell Mescal has unveiled her latest heartbreaker ‘Yellow Dresser,’ lifted from the upcoming EP Can I Miss It For A Minute?.
Fresh-faced indie-pop artist Nell Mescal continues to solidify her position as Ireland’s favourite budding star with her new single ‘Yellow Dresser,’ the third advance offering from her debut EP Can I Miss It For A Minute?, out May 3.
“'Yellow Dresser' is a song about realising you have fallen out of love with a person you are very close with” Mescal explained. “It’s about reaching your limit and figuring out how to move on even if it’s painful.”
A fan-favourite at her live shows, the anthemic release comes hot on the heels of last month’s ‘Warm Body’ and the lead angle ‘Killing Time,’ recently deemed Track of the Week by Radio 1.
“Can I Miss it for a Minute? is a concept EP written about growing up, moving away, friendship breakups and trying to navigate between current emotions and negative memories” Mescal said.
“Each song tells a part of the same story with a beginning, middle and an end. Some songs written in the moment and some written in retrospect. It talks about my life and how I deal with experiences that have shaped me. Most importantly I think it’s about moving on from things that used to have a hold on me.”

The last 12 months have seen Mescal explode onto the Irish music scene, performing at world-renowned festivals such as Latitude, All Point East, Kendall Calling and Electric Picnic. The 20-year-old upstart was also handpicked to support A-listers like HAIM, Florence & The Machine, Dermot Kennedy and The Last Dinner Party before completing a sold-out UK tour in January.
