Niamh Regan has released the second single from her upcoming album Come as You Are.
Irish singer-songwriter Niamh Regan is back with her latest heart-on-sleeve belter entitled ‘Belly,’ the second release from her upcoming spring album Come As You Are, out May 2024. The folk-tinged single is a bold evolution for the budding star, showcasing a richer, fuller sound spurred by unwavering ambition and courage.
“‘Belly’ is a light-hearted song with full band production, dealing with an idea of feeling like a broken record and not being heard,” Regan said. “[It’s about] being not so serious about feeling seriously crappy…”
Brimming with vulnerability and introspection, ‘Belly’ arrives just after the forthcoming album’s stirring opener ‘Madonna.’
“A lot of it is about being in your late twenties and kind of realising we’re all running out of time,” Regan said of the new album. “I’d have bouts of massive self-belief in the studio, and then in the next breath I would be like, ‘This is the worst piece of music I could have even imagined.’ It was a rollercoaster. But through that I found self-acceptance; this is where I’m at and making peace with that. That’s what the album essentially is, just making peace with where I’m at and being realistic with myself.”

Since her debut in 2020 with the dazzling release of Hemet, Regan has embarked on a slew of headline tours across Ireland, the UK, Australia and more, sharing the stage with A-listers like CMAT, Villagers and John Grant. Between her stints on the live circuit, Regan got to work on her sophomore album with Attica Studios alongside producer Tommy McLaughlin. Now a complete record flooded with acute observations and poignant self-reflection, Come As You Are is sure to uphold Regan’s ever-growing legacy on the Irish music scene.
