Niamh Regan is back with another taster from her upcoming album Come As You Are, this time in the form of the Wilco-inspired single ‘Music’.
Critically acclaimed Irish artist Niamh Regan is gearing up to release her long-awaited sophomore album Come As You Are, out May 31 via Faction Records. After the incredible reception of previous advanced releases ‘Madonna’, ‘Belly’ and 'Nice', Regan is back again with another album teaser entitled ‘Music’.
Inspired heavily by the works of Julia Jacklin, Caroline Rose and Wilco, the new track achieves a rich, full band sound while maintaining the intimacy of her debut project Hemet.
“‘Music’ is one of my favourite songs on the record,” Regan explained. “I was listening to a lot of Wilco while making this record and this song is like a nod to that with regards to production. It's the first song that I wrote where I thought this might be an earworm, and just had lots of fun with the lyrics and melody and I hope that comes across in the recording now.”
The track arrives coupled with an official music video directed by Juliet Bryant, which highlights the intimacy of everyday life as Regan gets ready for the day in a series of close-up, home video-style shots.

A record filled with acutely observed vulnerabilities and introspection, Come As You Are will move beyond the subtleties of 2020’s Hemet and latch onto a grander, more ambitious sound that showcases Regan’s talent at its peak.
“A lot of it is about being in your late twenties and kind of realising we’re all running out of time,” she said of the upcoming album. “I’d have bouts of massive self-belief in the studio, and then in the next breath I would be like, ‘This is the worst piece of music I could have even imagined.’ It was a rollercoaster. But through that I found self-acceptance; this is where I’m at and making peace with that. That’s what the album essentially is, just making peace with where I’m at and being realistic with myself.”
