The band’s first release in four years, ‘Sweet Spot’ is a highly unique and kaleidoscopic track.
Avant-garde Dingle/Cork-based band Pinhole return with their latest atmospheric single ‘Sweet Spot’.
Opening on a slow-paced, nonchalant collection of electronic sounds and cymbal-heavy percussion, the track evolves in a line of haunting and sultry vocals, reminiscent of artists such as Bat For Lashes or Portishead.
“‘Sweet Spot’ is essentially about the complexities of being human and the different forms of connection we make with each other," the band said.
“How good connections take thought, effort, and insight and are ultimately based on a motivation of care and responsibility, be they international diplomatic relations or simple parent-child relations. Sometimes we get it right, sometimes we get it wrong, the most important thing is we keep trying.”

The track marks the band’s return after their cancelled album launch and Irish/UK tour of 2020, at the outbreak of COVID. At the time, their single ‘Better Than One’ garnered substantial radio play.
On top of this recent release, Pinhole have announced two upcoming Irish shows. They will be playing in Cork’s Crane Lane on June 27 and in Dublin’s Whelan’s upstairs stage on June 80. Click here and here for more ticket information.
