Priorland consists of Calvin McManus, Tommy Hughes, Davie Boyle and Conor Kavanagh; who's passion for music has each been nurtured throughout their early lives.
Cavan-based band Priorland have shared their self-titled debut EP, featuring our Hot Press Track of the Day 'These Days'.
The four tracks EP also features rock 'n' roll-filled indie-pop bangers 'Seasons', 'Moving to the Beat', 'Running us Dry'.
Though just as energetic as 'Moving to the Beat', ‘Seasons’ is more slow-burning and layered — a sound which shows off the band’s considerable technical skill.
Priorland's diverse songs are ripe with lyrical meaning, instrumental proficiency and melodic hooks that strike listeners with a resemblance to unforgettable classics. The outfit's sound draws influences from each member's taste for indie, rock, pop, R&B, soul and reggae'; creating a booming songwriting machine.
In 2020, Priorland recorded their debut EP at Orphan Recording Ireland, produced by Gavin Glass (Paul Brady, Lisa Hannigan, David Keenan, Brave Giant, Hot Sprockets).

The band released lead single ‘Moving To The Beat’ in April 2020, after previous singles 'Seasons' and 'Ruins of a Gypsy'. The track was picked up by several Spotify playlists, including ‘Made in Ireland’ and ‘New Music Mondays’.
'These Days' tracks the changes and progression a person makes following the end of a romantic connection. With nostalgic guitar riffs and layered, raw harmonies; the infectiously track is the perfect blend of indie-rock and blues.
"The song was produced by Gavin Glass and was written by band member Davie Boyle - who acts as songwriter, guitarist and keyboard player in the band," Priorland tell Hot Press.
"The meaning behind the song is generally about moving on from a relationship and coming to terms with the person you become after a relationship."
I’m just the same man I was before // explained love debris // I’ve got no more words to say // I couldn’t be arsed with your heartbreak anyway.
"The song goes through the motions just like anyone does coming from a breakup."
A music video for the easygoing track is coming soon, directed and produced by the band.
