Rofi James have gained a significant following across the country with their numerous festival slots and performances with Irish stars like Picture This, Pa Sheehy and The Riptide Movement.
Galway three-piece Rofi James have returned with ‘Berlin Wall’ — an ode to escapism wrapped up in the pleasant melodies of a heavy pop banger.
“‘Berlin Wall’ is about getting away from it all, longing for a break from the daily routine that one experiences when one is locked up, the familiar surroundings and the daily routine of living in a pandemic to escape in the hope of catching another glimpse of normalcy,” the band said about the track.
Written during the first lockdown, the track was influenced by the mundane and cyclical habits perpetuated by lockdown. The track bounces on the pulse of a heavy kick that would be at home on any dancefloor. Ronan Flaherty’s vocals bring the listener on the night out they’ve been craving.
‘Berlin Wall’ arrived on November 26th and followed up the Galway band’s 2020 single ‘Sorry.’ Rofi James fans may not have to wait long for new music, they teased in a statement:
“With the band nearing the completion of their debut album, due to be released in 2022, 'Berlin Wall' is the first of many singles planned for the coming months,” the statement read.

The track was written by the trio — composed of Ronan, Jamie Murray and Joseph Flaherty. It was produced by long-time collaborator Dave Skelton and mastered by Fergal Davis.
Since Rofi James’ debut single ‘Fool for your Love’ dropped in 2016 they have built a solid fan base across the nation. With festival slots and appearances alongside some of Ireland’s greatest talents like Pa Sheehy, Picture This and The Riptide Movement — Rofi James are one of the enduring stars of the pop/rock scene in Ireland.
