Electro pop twins ROOUE fearlessly confront an abusive relationship in their latest single 'overdraft.'
The spirited percussion and distorted harmonies reveal and frame the artist’s lyrical exploration of a past harmful relationship. ‘overdraft’ was written when one of the sisters came to grips with the fact that her past relationship was emotionally abusive.
ROOUE say of 'overdraft:' "Writing this song was so healing and inspired us to share the struggles and challenges that being in an abusive relationship can bring.
"We wanted to make a song that we wish we could have heard when going through this situation and maybe help someone who hears it to not feel alone."
This new single follows ROOUE's 2023 dark pop hit 'so bad,' which amassed two million radio impacts in Ireland and reached number five on the Irish Radio Breakers Chart. It goes without saying that ROOUE are on the up and up throughout the Irish music scene.

Splitting time between Dublin and London, sisters Ro and Lulu spent their childhood in a home warmed by music and creative expression. Raised by their mother, a music psychotherapist, and their "jazz-enthusiast" father, their life was soundtracked by several genres, namely jazz, soul, traditional Irish music and electronic experimental pop.
ROOUE honour these musical influences by reflecting the sounds of the past while simultaneously injecting their own flair, composing a discography that is both familiar and unmistakably their own. With their latest single ‘overdraft,’ ROOUE continue their creative flair inspired by the past with room for experimentation and authenticity.
