The electro-pop duo’s recent release is a righteous declaration of anger and self-worth.
The electrifying alt-pop twins Ro and Lulu are back with another ROOUE banger. ‘you problem,’ finds the sisters bursting with proud rage as they look back on a ruinous friendship. With infectious melodies and hard-hitting rhythms the car-blasting banger feels tailor made for those of us in the midst of a contentious friend breakup.
‘you problem’ took form after a close friend cut ties with the sibling pair after her boyfriend hit on one of them, choosing to end both friendships rather than talk to her boyfriend about his actions.
“We felt bitter over this situation as our friend chose their boyfriend over the friendship, even though her boyfriend was acting unfaithful,” ROOUE explained. “The line ‘it’s a you problem’ felt so fitting. It's fun to be bitchy sometimes and it can be the way to get through situations like this.”
Undeniably marked as ones to watch in 2024, ROOUE have quickly ascended the ranks with their 2023 dark pop hit ‘so bad’ and the vulnerable January release ‘overdraft.’ With a new EP on the way, the electro-pop twins are certainly on the rise.
Drawing influence from the likes of Dua Lipa, Charlie XCX and Donna Missal, ROOUE find inspiration in the nostalgic sounds of their past while maintaining a uniquely modern flair.

Splitting their time between Dublin and London Ro and Lulu grew up with a music psychotherapist mother and “jazz nerd” father, a parenting duo infused the sisters’ childhoods with music and creativity and remains at the core of their sound today.
