The brand new video for ‘What Do I Know?’ will land later today, directed by Neema Sadeghi and Ethan Frank.
Skyrocketing indie singer-songwriter Sarah Crean has returned today with a sweeping new single, 'What Do I Know?'
The Dubliner has a knack for painting poignant images of her diaristic thoughts, using her rich vocals to stop you dead in your tracks and immerse you in her narratives.
The intimate earworm, ‘What Do I Know?’ comes with a brand new video, debuting later today on Sarah's YouTube channel and directed by Neema Sadeghi and Ethan Frank in Los Angeles earlier this year.
Building on her low-key independent breakout ‘2AM’ - which topped the US Spotify viral chart in November of last year, the cathartic ‘What Do I Know?’ was produced by Sarah alongside Adam O’Leary and Gabe Goodman (Del Water Gap, Maggie Rogers) and mixed by Chris Coady (Beach House, Blondshell).
"So what do I know? I could throw myself on the train tracks outside the apartment," she sings on the chorus, as fuzzy guitar melodies swirl around her. Processing a relationship that broke down her self-esteem, the painfully aware details are somehow both universally relatable yet deeply personal. "Sources whisper about a vast grey space with a cable that leads right to his phone..."
"As his parents card goes and clears his score / He prefers when I wear a mini skirt / Think he does so to claim I’m a whore / What he doesn’t know won’t kill him / When it couldn’t kill me before..."

Speaking on the track, Sarah says, “‘What Do I Know?’ is a satirical take on a toxic relationship breaking down. The song was written a few years after the time in which it’s set - which means I was able to approach it from a satirical angle. I think if it had been written during the period it took place, it would have been a much darker take.”
Having made her London live debut supporting Quinnie in Hackney’s Folklore, Sarah has announced her first string of festival performances at Otherside and All Together Now in her native Ireland, with further live dates to follow.
Crean released her debut album Call For Refinement back in 2021, followed by 2022 singles 'You Have No Idea', 'Show Me Nuance' and breakout hit '2:00AM'.
