The third single to be lifted from their upcoming debut album Love & Violence, the track pays homage to a time when music could change the world.
Dublin Trio Skanger have put out the electrifying ‘Change The World’, another single hailing from their upcoming debut album Love & Violence, set for release in Spring 2025.
With glistening synths and pulsating bass riffs, the track has an undeniable retro-futuristic feel and an incredibly upbeat and dance-inducing energy.
Despite its mournful theme, admiring a time when music had a profound effect on culture and society, and could actually be world-changing, the track is lined with hopefulness and fun, thanks to its major chord progression and Mark Healy’s atmospheric vocal performance.
Speaking of the inspiration behind the track, Healy comments: “I accidentally heard an interview on Irish talk radio where a man was talking about a letter he found while clearing out his late father’s house.
“The letter was a declaration that prior to the birth of his son, his father had been someone different, and he had led an alternate life that was meaningful and worthwhile to the world. I found this heartbreakingly sad. I decided to write my own letter but in a positive hopeful way by writing ‘Change The World’”
