After 10 years in the making, Ireland's favorite street-funk brass band have released their debut project, It Did Went Down, filled with punchy melodies and hard-hitting rhythms.
Street-funk band Stomptown Brass continues to cement their status as one of the most unique performing acts to come out of Ireland in recent years with the release of their latest album It Did Went Down, a fierce blend of soul, jazz, theatre and techno that extends beyond the expectations of a typical brass band.
The album’s standout dance track ‘Ask Noel’ is an eclectic ode to the relentless beat and energetic intensity of an early-morning techno bunker. With a rip-roaring tempo, the track punctures the solid groove of the album, turning listeners on their heads as the urban 8-piece marries jazzy brass with the heavy beats of techno.
A powerful consolidation of a decade’s worth of hard work and dedication to their craft, It Did Went Down marks the ten year anniversary of Stomtown Brass. A spectacular debut project, the long-awaited record holds a richness and depth that can only be accomplished through years of playing, listening and adjusting.
A multidimensional tapestry of sound and texture, Stomptown Brass continues to transcend genres, styles and generations and they pull from a wide range of musical influences.

While tracks like ‘Ask Noel’ hold the ability to transport listeners to a grimy 3am dance floor, others, like 2022’s single ‘Let Me Stay’, hold a gospel-like smoothness with soft vocal harmonies and intricate Balearic beats.
