The release is her first since 2023's RTÉ Folk award-winning EP Now You See It.
Renowned Clare songwriter Susan O’Neill has shared her latest single ‘Drive’. The pulsating indie-folk earworm sees the singer take the listener on a journey through the ups and downs of the human condition – rife with poetic flow and rich, juxtaposing lyricism.
Engineered and produced by Christian Best in Cork, and written with bandmate brothers Cillian and Lorcan Byrne, ‘Drive’ also features mixing from Grammy-winning, LA-based Irishman Cian Riordan, who’s CV includes working with the likes of St. Vincent, Lana Del Rey and Sleater Kinney.
“It fell out of my mouth and onto the page in one brief sitting,” said O’Neill. “I’m trying to be more honest with myself. If I can know my own chaos, chill with it, wear it like a parade of paradoxes, this would be me trying that on.”

Susan is set to hit the road again this summer, with appearances at the Haldern Pop Festival in Germany and a mainstage slot with the Stargaze Orchestra at Swiss event Zermatt Unplugged. She’s also set to join forces with Flannery once more, as the duo take the stage during the Live at the Marquee series, in Cork, on 21 June, 2024.
