Up and coming Irish folk artist, Tadhg Williams has released his second single of the year.
Waterford's folk singer, Tadhg Williams, has released his new single ‘Frank Edwards’.
The track opens with a peaceful guitar riff that is then paired with Williams’ emotive singing and vivid lyrics to create a folksy sonic experience.
Like all of Williams' music, this single focuses on storytelling. ‘Frank Edwards’ is an anti-facist song about the men who fought in the Spanish Civil War.
When talking about the track, Williams says, “one man in particular fascinated me, and I wondered, apart from his obvious political convictions, what influenced him to go. The song explores his reasons and his experiences in Spain.
“I want to dedicate the song to the memories of those eleven Waterford men who fought fascism in Spain. I hope that while the growth of the far-right continues in Ireland, this song serves as a reminder that Ireland has always been a loving country on the side of free people.”

This track follows the release of his first single of 2024 entitled ‘Nixer’. To celebrate his new music, Williams will be playing his headline show at the Cobblestone on Sunday June 9 and tickets can be found here.
