The Drumshambo six-piece offer up a catchy tale of mistrust in love with their first release of the year.
West coast outfit The Vibes offer up a typically atmospheric tableau of an imbalanced, faltering relationship with ‘Ocean Blue’.
Sonically, the track is an expertly crafted pop number, evoking shades of radio-ready juggernauts like Snow Patrol and Dermot Kennedy, with reverbed guitars and banjos adding an original, folky flavour - as do the addictive chants of “Where are you now” echoing throughout the chorus.
Meanwhile, the honest lyrics detail someone who’s been evidently let down by a lover, after they've failed to deliver on their promises.
The Vibes hail from Leitrim, Roscommon and Sligo and consist of Leo Logan (Vocals/Guitar), Joanne Logan (Vocals), Martin Raftery (Drums), Gerard Bracken (Bass), Kiev Reynolds (Vocals/Guitar) and Sinead Keaveney (Vocals/Keys), with Eoin Reynolds joining them on banjo on 'Ocean Blue'.

With influences ranging from Irish trad to The Beatles, the band have built up a reputation for their invigorating live sets and infectious blend of folk, pop and rock sensibilities. They’ve had various Irish Top 30 chart hits since forming in 2012, including ‘Head Over Heels’, Where I wanna Be’, and ‘Just Another Love Song’.
They’ve also collaborated with some renowned produces, Adele and Katy Perry collaborator Greg Wells and U2 associate Ger McDonnell among them.
