Listen to the riveting alt-rock number below
Cult Irish project Tigers of Tin Pan have made their highly anticipated return with their latest single, ‘Don't Say You Don't Believe In God,’ set for full release on September 6.
After over a long period of recording, John Butler and acclaimed producer Liam Mulvaney conjure up a bouncy psychedelic pop number. The tune is both carefully crated and wild, characterised by gloriously gritty, Stranglers-like basslines and atmosphere-forming synths.
Lyrically, according to the band, the song was “written from the perspective of an adolescent navigating the complexities of faith” and “explores the importance of respecting others' beliefs while coming to terms with one’s own.”

‘Don’t Say You Don’t Believe in God’ signals a broader creative resurgence for the outfit within John Butler’s sonic universe, which also includes the Stray Planets—a project featuring production by Rían Trench and guest vocals by Dara Kiely of Gilla Band, among others.
While both projects exist independently, they share Butler’s singular vision, with more to come from both projects in the coming months, as Tigers of Tin Pan appear ready to reclaim their place as one of Ireland’s most distinctive acts.
