Indie songwriter Tommy Cullen has released his single ‘Flatpack’, guaranteed to be a sunny day staple.
A guitar serenade turned drum infused declaration, Tommy Cullen’s ‘Flatpack’ brings the listener along with the artist on a journey through the wild west as he sings of “origami horses” and a “flat-packed wagon train”, before breaking into a heartfelt admission, “you are like the sun”.
The strums of his guitar meet the beat from the building drums as the music crescendos before dissipating into a more free groovy beat. You can feel the rays of the sun on your face listening to this emotional yet infectious tune.
‘Flatpack’ was co-written with Cullen’s former bandmate Cormac Feeley for his debut album Enjoy the Glow. It was inspired by a fateful trip to IKEA, a shop known for its overwhelming variety of flat-packed furniture.
Cullen began his journey into the Dublin music scene as the frontman of an alternative rock/psychedelic band called The False and the Fair, before trying his hand as a solo artist.
The singer recorded an eclectic series of indie singles in his home studio, which took flight on a seven-date tour of Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way, a live acoustic EP, and gigs in his hometown.

Enjoy the Glow, mixed by Marcus Jay and mastered by Ivan Jackman at Hellfire Studios, explores the singer's life experiences, from the beauty of everyday life to recounting tales of true love to alleged UFO sightings.
The indie songwriter will be opening for PointBreak Dublin in The Harbour Bar Sunday 2 June.
Tommy Cullen’s new album Enjoy the Glow is available to stream and download on all platforms, or to purchase on CD/Vinyl here.
