Two different lawsuits have been filed since the tragic events of November 5th, arguing that Travis Scott and the concert organisers created an unsafe environment for concertgoers.
Travis Scott, LiveNation, and Scoremore have been sued after the tragic events that occurred last Friday, (November 5) which saw eight people lose their lives at Astroworld.
This year's edition of the Travis Scott festival ended in complete chaos; resulting in multiple casualties and many more injured. The victims ranged in age from 14 to 27 years old, while a boy as young as 10 was reported amongst those injured.
“The crowd began to compress towards the front of the stage, and that caused some panic, and it started causing some injuries,” Houston Fire Chief Samuel Peña explained. “People began to fall out, become unconscious, and it created additional panic.”
At least 25 people were transported to the hospital while more than 300 people were treated on the scene for minor injuries.
A suit was filed on Saturday (November 6th) in Harris County District Court by Manuel Souza, one of the people injured at Astroworld. The attendee claimed that the incident was a “predictable and preventable tragedy,” as well as accusing the organisers of putting profit over the safety and health of the concertgoers.

On Sunday another suit was filed by Texas attorney Thomas J. Henry on behalf of one of the victims. Henry's lawsuit includes Drake (who performed alongside Travis Scott) and the NRG Stadium where the event took place.
The lawyer called for more victims to join the lawsuit, stating that he would provide “immediate consultations to all injured victims as well as to families who had loved ones hurt or killed at the concert.”
“I’m absolutely devastated by what took place last night,” Travis Scott said in a statement released on Twitter. “My prayers go out to the families and all those impacted by what happened at Astroworld Festival. Houston PD has my total support as they continue to look into the tragic loss of life. I am committed to working together with the Houston community to heal and support the families in need.”
Scott further apologised on an Instagram live stream on Saturday. The footage has since been re-posted on YouTube and Instagram.
The Huston-born rapper has come under severe criticism on social media. Many have accused him of mishandling and ignoring the chaos which ensued in front of him - with multiple instances caught in video footage. In one such clip, the artist can be seen acknowledging an ambulance in the crowd and then returning to his performance.
It is likely that more cases will be brought forwards against the rapper, as high-profile civil rights and personal injury lawyer Ben Crump has already stated that he will also be filing a suit against Scott and Astroworld.
