All net proceeds from the event will be donated to Pen America, a nonprofit organization raising awareness for the protection of free expression in the U.S and beyond.
A tribute concert in honour of the late Shane MacGowan and Sinéad O’Connor will take place in New York’s Carnegie Hall this Spring.
The event, announced by the City Winery, takes place on March 20, and features a host of world-renowned musicians, including Glen Hansard, Dropkick Murphy’s, David Gray, Cat Power and more, who will pay homage to MacGowan and O’Connor’s legacies with covers of their songs.
Also on the bill so far are Amanda Palmer, Gordon Gano, The Mountain Goats, Julia Cunning, Kat Edmonson, Eugene Hütz and The Resistance Revival Chorus, with more performers set to be announced.

Alongside general admission tickets, two VIP packages are also available. The ‘Nothing Compares 2 U’ will allow buyers to work on the show’s setlist with City Winery CEO Michael Dorf. Meanwhile, the ‘A Pair of Brown Eyes’, equivalent features access to a five-course dinner with the artists taking part, as well as access to rehearsals and a space onstage during the concert’s finale.

A selection of other specially themed tickets are also available, with perks ranging from box seats to afterparty access.
All VIP passes are available for purchase now, with general admission tickets going on sale on January 22.
Sinéad O’Connor died at the age of 56 in July last year, while her contemporary and close friend Shane MacGowan passed away from pneumonia aged 65, on November 30
