Before taking the stage in Scotland, CMAT will release her debut album, If My Wife New I'd Be Dead, on February 25.
The future country-pop icon has already excited fans with wry singles taken from the LP, such as 'I Don't Really Care For You', Another Day (KFC) and Rodney.
The singer's unique sensibilities as an artist – a penchant for disco rhythms, a plethora of pop-culture references and a dolly-esque sense of style – have solidified her spot as "the one to watch" is Irish music today.
CMAT appeared on the cover of Hot Press' Hot for 2022 issue where she spoke with Ellen Gough about becoming a lockdown sensation, her unique journey to fame and the inspiration behind her upcoming debut.
“But it’s weird doing shows and having people turn up and want to meet me! It’s a bit overwhelming, to go somewhere on one night of the year, and have all these people be really intensely into me. And then the next day to go to a Morrison’s and get turned down for three bottles of wine, because I don’t have any ID with me.”
