South African singer, Troye Sivan, has released a fifth single off of his upcoming album Bloom .
The new track, 'Animal', is a dedication to Sivan's boyfriend Jacob Bixenman.
The song features a fairly low maintenance production, which when coupled with Sivan's harmonious vocals, creates a track that is sweet, intimate and utterly heart-melting.
Sivan spoke about the song's intention of representing a romance that was timeless and affectionate.
Animal is one of my fave songs I’ve ever written. I wanted to make an epic, timeless love song about how whipped i am

Much anticipation has been had for the new album, with Sivan having recently teamed up with Ariana Grande for the single, 'Dance To This'. The pop princess is also due to release an album this month titled Sweetener .
Sivan's new project will feature ten tracks. He spoke about the new direction he was hoping to take in music, teasing that the new album will have a slightly darker twist than his debut. Yet, he promised music that was more 'danceable' and 'guitar-driven'.
Sivan has played a part in revolutionising the pop industry, bringing queer representation into mainstream pop in a way that didn't exist five years ago. His leading single 'Bloom' spoke candidly about living as an open gay man, whereas the new single 'Animal' explores the feeling of same-sex love.
