In their over 40 year long band history, U2 never played in the Philippines. That will change on December 11 when the Dublin band is going to take the stage at Manila's Philippine Arena as part of their The Joshua Tree Tour 2019.

U2 previously announced that they will bring back the Joshua Tree Tour after they successfully toured their seminal 1987 album in 2017 to celebrate its 30th anniversary. They originally planned to do dates in New Zealand, Australia, Japan, Singapore and South Korea.

They have now added more dates in Auckland, Sydney, Kallang and Manila to the schedule. See all the additional tour dates below:

• November 9 - MT. Smart Stadium, Auckland, New Zealand
• November 23 - Sydney Cricket Ground, Sydney, Australia
• November 30 - National Stadium, Kallang, Singapore
• December 1 - National Stadium, Kallang, Singapore
• December 11 - Philippine Arena, Manila, the Philippines

The band is especially excited to finally play in the Philippines' capital: "Manila is a first and that has everyone on their toes. This has to be one of the great ones", Bono states.

"We really wanted to bring The Joshua Tree Tour to Asia", added The Edge, "We'd always hoped that it would include a show in the Philippines and now we can finally say that we will see you in December... We are very excited".

Presale for U2.com subscribers will begin on Sunday, September 1st (10am) through Tuesday, September 3 (5pm).
