The Dublin band reissues the classic track after 27 years
U2 has released a digital reissue of 'Discothèque' as part of a new series of "deep dives," alongside a fresh selection of b-sides and mixes.
The reissue of the classic U2 track arrives 27 years after its original release, marking the latest instalment in a series of planned re-releases.
Originally released as a dancefloor single in January 1997, 'Discothèque' makes its online debut with this release.
With its reissue, 'Discothèque' initiates the band's new series of b-side releases, titled To Love and Only Love, Deep Dives and B-Sides, which will feature 12 newly remastered single collections scheduled for release throughout the year.

The first digital collection contains 10 new song mixes, along with two additional mixes of the band's b-side track 'Holy Joe,' including a 'Garage Mix' and 'Guilty Mix.' New versions of the 1997 single include a 'DM Deep Club Mix,' 'Howie B, Hairy B Mix,' a 'Hexidecimal Mix,' and a 'DM Deep Instrumental Mix,' among others.
For Bono and the band, this revisit of their catalogue follows the conclusion of their time at the Sphere venue in Las Vegas earlier this year.
The residency, which began last September, featured the band performing their 1991 album Achtung Baby in its entirety for the first time. The final show on March 2 saw the band sharing a clip with fans of them singing 'Beautiful Day' for the last time at the venue.
The new series of re-releases, b-sides, and mixes from U2 will continue throughout 2024, with more information available on the band's official website.
