U2 have shared the previously unreleased track 'Happiness', the latest from single from their upcoming How To Re-Assemble An Atomic Bomb project.
In the run-up to the 20th anniversary of How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb, U2 announced a special new 'shadow album'. Set to arrive on November 29, the record featrues previously unreleased songs from the original album recording sessions.
“It was amazing to go back and hear some of these tracks that we played as a band; we’re fond of those tracks, they’re your friends,” bassist Adam Clayton said in a recent interview with Apple Music. “You feel that not much more needs to happen. It’s all there.”
How To Re-Assemble An Atomic Bomb is set to get its own standalone release on November 29. It will be available as a limited edition black and red marble vinyl LP for Record Store Day's Black Friday event, and will also be released as a 10-track digital release.
To further mark the upcoming anniversary How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb is also being remastered for the first time – a process which saw the band go back to the vault to revisit those early ‘00s recording sessions. Those years have been described as 'a period of intense creativity for U2 in the studio' as well as a 'a time of deep personal and artistic reflection following the passing of Bono’s father Bob in 2001.'
This special 20th anniversary edition, will include the bonus track ‘Fast Cars’. A remastered 20th Anniversary Edition of the album will be released in multiple formats on November 22, including a limited edition Super Deluxe Collectors Boxset.
