Ultan Conlon and Leslie Dowdall's performances for Van Morrison's 75th birthday celebrations are going live tonight.
Following stunning performances on 'Rave On, Van Morrison' last night, we're brining you more back-to-back performances – with Ultan Conlon performing 'Bulbs', followed by Leslie Dowdall performing 'Philosopher's Stone'.
Over the course of the YouTube event, celebrating Van Morrison's 75th birthday, you can expect even more renditions of his remarkable songs from some of the most iconic names in the country.
Widely considered one of Ireland’s most captivating artists, Ultan Conlon has shared stages with the legendary likes of Jackson Browne, John Grant and Patty Griffin, and performed duets with Glen Hansard and John Martyn – the latter recording one of Ultan’s early songs, ‘Really Gone’, in 2005. The Galway singer-songwriter released his fourth studio album, There’s A Waltz, earlier this year.
Initially rising to prominence as the lead singer with In Tua Nua – who were first act on U2's Mother label before joining Island Records – Dublin singer-songwriter Leslie Dowdall has enjoyed a successful solo career since the '90s, and was voted Best Female Artist at the Hot Press Awards in 1997. She also works with young people as part of Music Generation Wicklow.
Ultan Conlon's performance of 'Bulbs' (7pm Irish Standard Time) and Leslie Dowdall's performances of 'Philosopher's Stone' (8pm) premiere tonight, September 8, on the Hot Press YouTube channel.
