Along with the single, the band has a new album ready to go.
One of the best live sets I’ve ever seen was put on by an opening band in a scrappy Boston basement. That band was the underground psych-rock sensation Carinae. For years now they’ve been building up something of a devoted cult fanbase by bringing their mind-melting sounds to DIY venues and oddball spaces across North America. They’re one of the hardest working bands out right now, but up to this point, they didn’t have any satisfactory recordings to prove it. Finally, they’ve blessed the world with some songs that just might bring them out of the underground and into the realm of indie recognition. First came the single and video for ‘Making Breakfast,’ a trippy release that fans gushed over. Now, with the release of ‘Eta/Someday’ the potential for Carinae to conquer feels real. With the release of the single also comes news that the band’s first album in four years, aptly self-titled, will be out October 1st. Check out Carinae’s music for free here on their Bandcamp. You may be hearing a lot more about them in the coming months. Above all, if they ever make it over to Europe, don’t miss their transcendental live show.
