Nine Inch Nails and Jane Addiction’s participation will be manna from Goth heaven for their legion of Irish fans.
As well as going out on tour together, the two bands have been cosying up in the studio.
“Emails were sent, phone calls were made, dinner was arranged, ideas were discussed and the next thing I know we're in the studio experimenting,” Trent Reznor says of the NIN/Jane’s love-in. “I get to see first-hand why they broke up all those years ago but I also get the chance to see four distinct personalities that become an incredible band when they're in the same room."
In addition to new material, Perry Farrell’s mob are also releasing a 3-CD/DVD package on April 18. Two-years in the compiling, A Cabinet Of comprises of 43 audio tracks – including a cracking cover of Led Zep’s ‘Whole Lotta Love’ – and 11 videos and concert performances.
Meanwhile, another of the bands who’ve got us all tingly with excitement, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, have responded to their It’s Blitz! album being leaked on to the ‘net by bringing its download release forward a month to this weekend. The shock news is that Karen O’s learned to croon as well as yelp and scream, making for the New Yorker's most poptabulous album yet.
