Ursula Connolly has announced Songs Through a Stained Glass Window, a musical performance set to take place at St. George's Heritage & Visitor Centre in Carrick-on-Shannon, Co. Leitrim.
Connolly is a singer-songwriter and vocal coach from Dublin with over 30 years of performing experience. She is a former member of the bands The Fallen Angels and The Connolly Sisters, and has released two solo albums, 2011's Picture of Myself and 2012's Devil May Care.
Songs Through a Stained Glass Window has been inspired by Harry Clarke's illustrations of Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tales, which are on display in various locations in Ireland, including The Hugh Lane Gallery, Bewley’s on Grafton Street, Collins Barracks and various chapels.
The project promises an experience where "enchanting melodies resonate beautifully through the venue’s stained glass windows, creating an immersive and unforgettable experience."

Harry Clarke was an illustrator of books who worked with writers such as Edgar Allan Poe and Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. Clarke’s illustrations for Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tales were his first major book artwork commission.
Aside from Connolly, the performance will feature musicians Mark Murphy, Clio Quinlan, Eimear Reidy and Peter Connolly.
