Another Vampire Weekend side-project is about to launch: bassist Chris Baio (aka Baio) and drummer Chris Tomson (aka CT) are starting a podcast about touring called The Road Taken. The 10-episode series is set to debut on October 2.

With a slew of celebrity guests, the two Chrises will talk about the highs and lows of touring life. The podcast will feature The Strokes' Albert Hammond Jr., The Black Keys' Patrick Carney, Michelle Branch, Mumford and Sons' Winston Marshall, Mobb Deep's Havoc, Laura Marling and Can's Malcolm Mooney amongst others.

Speaking to Billboard, Baio admits he initially had some doubts about the subject, "When CT told me he had an idea for a podcast about touring, I thought to myself, 'But wait! Touring is boring!' Little did I know what I was in for: discussions across decades and genres about how touring is both art and commerce, how it changes the music artists make, and how it can be punishing sometimes and rewarding at others."

"In my own experience, I realized that a lot of what I had read and imagined was true and a lot of it was wildly inaccurate", CT says about the touring experience, "This podcast, then, is kind of a Trojan Horse for me; it has allowed me to have the conversations about touring that I've always wanted to have - and to hear! - with so many people I respect and look up to."

He also took to Twitter to share his excitement about the podcast, writing, "Honestly, these conversations have helped me figure out my own relationship w touring more completely and I think they'll do the same for anyone!"
