Hot Press is proud to premiere the music video for The Burma's 'When You're Gone.'
The Cork-based indie rockers released 'When You're Gone' on January 24. The track starts out minimal and slow, building to a louder, more psychedelic sound featuring delightfully heavy lo-fi bass. It will feature on their upcoming Sugar Moonlight EP.
Drummer Cian Doherty said of the track: "Most of our songs are uptempo and high energy right from the start. This song works well as a contrast. It's kind of refreshing, it gives the set a new feel."
The video, filmed in Dublin's Mill studios, is a dizzying performance. Frontman Tony O'Donovan said:
"We did the video for this one with Isla Media, our buddies from Cobh. We've done a couple of videos with them in the past and we've loved them, we have great craic doing them too which helps because it's usually a really long day. We shot the video in Mill Studios in Dublin, it turned out to be practically the only studio in Ireland that would work for the idea we had. We were giving up hope until the lads eventually found this place and it turned out to be perfect. We didn't do a video for our last single so we're delighted to be able to share one for When You're Gone and hopefully we'll have a couple more in the next few months!"

The Burma have been on our radar since 2017 with the release of their Her Eyes On Horizons EP. Influenced by the American indie scene of the early 2000’s and British guitar bands of the 80s and 90s, the band’s jangly guitars and bouncy basslines make for refreshingly melodic songs.
