Jamie Freed's 'Lockdown EP 1' will drop exclusively on SoundCloud and YouTube later this month.
Young creative Jamie Freed draws inspiration from contemporary hip-hop and R&B, despite starting his career originally as an indie singer-songwriter.
Developing a sound devoted to providing emotional and lyrical content, while maintaining a high energy, new-wave feel, Freed recently shared the first track from his forthcoming Lockdown EP 1 project.
'Feels Like Home' was recorded and written by Jamie in his small Drumcondra bedroom, with additional production and final mix by Flashthedeliveryguy. The DIY spirit shines through the track, with minimal production and an intensely intimate vocal performance.
The stripped-back acoustic ballad touches the subject of comfortability between two people, the feeling of "home" one person can get from another, either friends or lovers.
The video encompasses a montage of shots of Jamie and his close friends, and was shot on Bull Island, Clontarf. Directed and edited by Roberto Marsanasco of Mango Media, the feel-good energy is palpable.

After accumulating over 100,000 streams across streaming platforms with previous singles 'At My Feet', 'I Don't Need You' and 'Keep a Bag'; Freed looks to a new, more intimate and raw direction with his new EP. His debut project Wants, Not Needs, was released back in 2019, and kick-started his growing fanbase.
The Lockdown EP 1 sees Jamie move in a new, more stripped-back and raw direction. The EP, created in the artist's box-bedroom during lockdown, takes a much more rough-around-the-edges approach as opposed to Freed's usual lavish, up-tempo production. A fusion of genres, ranging from alternative rock to hip-hop and alternative hip-hop; Jamie is busy exploring new sounds and new worlds on the unpredictable, ever-changing project made during unpredictable, ever-changing times.
