Derry musician Paul Casey has unveiled his latest single ‘You Are’ alongside a stunning new music video filmed throughout Belfast and Donegal.
Irish songwriter and guitarist Paul Casey has released his brand-new single ‘You Are’, the first advanced release from his forthcoming festival-teaser album entitled Life in Reverse: The Studio Recordings of the Glastonbury Setlist.
Due out just ahead of his long-awaited Glastonbury appearance in June, the album tracklist features new studio recordings of Casey’s upcoming festival setlist. A follow-up to December’s The Long Road Back, Casey’s new project will come similarly paired with a series of self-directed music videos filmed throughout Belfast and Donegal.
‘You Are’, the album’s first release, is an audio-visual experience accompanied by the picturesque landscapes of Ireland. A long-time favourite at Casey’s live gigs, the acoustic ballad has been re-imagined to fit within the context of a seven-piece band. The result is an entirely new sound fit for the prestigious Glastonbury stage.
“It’s a song about love and loss. But at the same time it seems to have a universal appeal. It seems to connect with people”, Casey said. “It has turned into this big exciting, swinging 6/8 song. 6/8 is one of my favourite tempos to play. I’m excited about how the song has transformed for Glastonbury.”

The premiere comes paired with news of an exciting Glastonbury Warm-Up Gig in the intimate Cinema Room at St. Columb’s Hall in Derry on June 26, just three days before Casey’s festival appearance. The unique live performance will give 129 audience members the opportunity to hear the band run through the entirety of their Glastonbury set list for The Acoustic Stage.
Tickets for the Glastonbury Warm-Up Gig are available exclusively from Cool Discs, at £20.
